Have you heard of the decision paradox❓

It goes like this:

1️⃣ not enough choice people will resist you and not buy because they have no benchmark or comparison

2️⃣ too many choices people will resist you because they will be confused and overwhelmed

Too little choice = resistance

Too much choice = resistance

❌ recommendations can be bad news when it comes to influence because it removes choice and can create resistance

✅ instead give people choices so they feel in control of the decision

And the perfect number of choices?

Well it turns out that 3️⃣ is the magic number.

So if you want to be more influential stop giving people recommendations and start giving them options.
